A single very long day, not a shortened expedition
Most polar bear trips to Churchill run three to seven nights and cost accordingly. This one compresses the wildlife part into one day by chartering an aircraft: you fly in at dawn, spend the middle of the day on a Tundra Buggy® on the Hudson Bay coast, eat a banquet dinner in town, and fly out at nine in the evening.
That trade is the whole decision. You give up the multi-day rhythm, the second and third chance at good light, and the northern lights that come with an overnight stay. You get the bears without booking a week off work, and without competing for Churchill's very limited hotel stock.
Bears are not guaranteed
The operator states plainly in its own terms that it cannot guarantee wildlife will be present. Bears congregate along the coast waiting for the bay to freeze, and they often approach the buggies out of curiosity — but sightings average 100–200 m, and close encounters happen when they happen.
Anyone promising you guaranteed close-up bears is selling you something. We are not selling anything.

Transfer to the Tundra Buggies
School buses run from the airstrip to the launch point. Buggy seating is not assigned — groups stay together and pick their own vehicle.

Five to six hours on old military gravel roads along the coast. Heated interior, windows that drop, open viewing platform at the rear. Lunch is served on board.

Three things people get wrong
It is a long day for a child
The operator recommends age eight and up. Two to three hours of flying each way plus six hours on a rocking buggy is a lot for a younger child, and there is no way to opt out mid-day.
Nothing is refundable by default
Money paid is non-refundable unless your seat is resold. Trip cancellation insurance is not included and not sold by the operator. How the refund rule really works →
Your lens matters more than your camera
At 100–200 m a phone will not do it. The operator's naturalist recommends 100–400 mm or a long superzoom bridge camera. Tripods are not allowed on the buggy. Photography notes →
