Yes, three of them. Hot breakfast on the flight up, lunch served on the Tundra Buggy®, and a buffet-style banquet dinner at a private venue in Churchill. Beverages and gratuities are included in the package price. Bring snacks anyway — it is a seventeen-hour day.

No, and the operator says so in its own terms: it cannot guarantee that wildlife will be present in any quantity or at any time. What is reliable is the concentration of bears along the coast at this time of year. Average sighting distance is 100–200 metres; bears sometimes approach the buggies out of curiosity, but that is luck, not itinerary.

The ground operator must stay on existing gravel roads, so the buggy does not approach bears across open tundra. Distances range from several kilometres down to a few metres when a curious bear closes the gap itself.

At a private terminal, not the main airport concourse, because the aircraft is chartered. Directions and a free parking map arrive in the expedition package sent 30 days before departure.

One carry-on bag up to 23 × 41 × 57 cm (9 × 16 × 22.5 in) and 10 kg (22 lb), plus one small personal item no more than 12 cm deep — a briefcase, a laptop or a purse. Camera gear counts against this, so plan the bag before the kit.

Longer than you think. The operator's naturalist recommends a 100–400 mm zoom, and reports excellent results from bridge cameras with 28–600 mm built-in zooms. Tripods are not allowed on the buggy; monopods are usually unnecessary.

Usually not. October and November temperatures hover near freezing, the buggy interior is heated but you are not moving gear between extremes for long, and any moisture wipes off with a camera cloth.

Recommended for age eight and up. The flying plus five to six hours on a rocking buggy is demanding for younger children, and there is no way to shorten the day. A parental release must be signed for each child.

Aircraft seats are pre-assigned by the operator and confirmed at check-in; special requests are accommodated where possible. Tundra Buggy® seating is not assigned — you pick a buggy on arrival and groups stay together. Banquet seating is open.

No, and the operator does not sell it. Check your credit card first, then your home or auto insurer, then a dedicated travel insurer. Given that money paid is non-refundable by default, trip cancellation and interruption cover is the one that matters.

Only if the operator resells your seat, in which case you can take a full refund or move to a date the following season. If they cannot resell it, cancelling 90+ days out forfeits the deposit and cancelling within 89 days forfeits the full trip price. Transferring the booking to another adult is free but must happen more than seven days before travel.

The flight is operated by a third-party airline and the tour operator's terms exclude liability for airline cancellations, delays and schedule changes. Under force majeure the operator will reschedule or refund the tour booking, but will not cover hotels, connecting flights or other costs. This is what insurance is for.

The Boeing 737 charter is operated by Canadian North. The Tundra Buggy® vehicles are operated by Frontiers North Adventures, which has run them in Churchill since 1979. The tour company packages the day.
